  35. Looking for Marines who served at Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, California. The base was placed on the EPA Superfund list in 1990, closed in 1999, much of the contamination cleaned up by the Navy, and most of the land sold at a public auction in 2005. MWSG to 37 (EPAs Site 24) was the source of the trichloroethylene (TCE) toxic plume spreading off the base almost 3 miles. The soil and groundwater of MWSG to 37s 200 acres was contaminated with TCE and other chemicals. TCE is a carcinogen.   75. Looking for anyone who served with USMC, Bravo Company, FLC, Dong Ha, Cam Lo, Qua Viet, Con Thien, Camp Carroll, or LZ Stud, in South Viet Nam between March 1968 and June 1969.   76. Looking for Marines who knew PFC Jans F. Hursey, Fox Co. 2/5, 1st Marine Division. PFC Hursey was killed on hill 56 on Sept. 23, 1950, while storming a machine gun nest, thus saving the lives of 9 other Marines. His Commanding Officer was also killed in this battle, and this is where the problem began. According to the government, his Commanding Officer did not nominate him for the Medal of Honor because the time period for being nominated for the MOH had expired. However, a later CO did nominate PFC Hursey for the Silver Star, and he was posthumously awarded this medal. I am presently in the process of upgrading his Silver Star to the MEDAL OF HONOR. I need help from anyone who knew PFC Hursey and can assist me in his endeavor. This Marine went far beyond the normal call of duty by giving his life so that 9 other Marines lives would be spared.
